Phil Manning
Phil Manning has been working as a professional entertainer for over 30 years, singing, playing Hammond organ and of course, piano. During this time he has also produced, arranged and recorded many album and demo projects, radio commercials and soundtracks for film and video. Tuning pianos as well as doing minor repairs was certainly a valuable self-taught skill which Phil regularly put to good use.
In concert with the launch of Artist Piano Care in 2008 Phil has been collecting credentials to complement his established skills as a qualified piano technician. A student of the Randy Potter School of Piano Technology, Phil has successfully completed Randy Potter's Intermediate Piano Training Seminar at Montana State University. As a part of his continuing professional development, Phil regularly attends seminars and conferences such as "Tune in to UWO" presented by the Piano Technology Program at the University of Western Ontario and the Annual Convention of the Canadian Association of Piano Technicians. Phil is an associate of the Piano Technicians Guild, the Canadian Association of Piano Technicians and the Audio Engineering Society.
Phil also operates EMVKeys (Electro-Mechanical Vintage Keyboards rentals) and Siesta Produce (music and audio recording & production). Phil and his wife Sharon have also formed "Cracknell & Manning Services and Consulting", providing consultation and conducting seminars covering areas of interest to the administrators of Churches and private Christian schools.
Phil continues to perform live with several bands in the Toronto area and is also on call at several GTA churches as a worship band player and worship leader.
Phil and Sharon are supporters of a Toronto inner-city community known as Sanctuary. They attend a weekly Christian worship gathering there each Sunday at 5:00pm where Phil plays his Hammond organ along with the house worship band. They also provide practical and financial support as they are able. To know more about Sanctuary click here.
